‘Has anyone lost a husky?’: Netizens reunite dog lost for four years with owners

We here at Coconuts HK love stories about dogs and, particularly, stories about netizens helping people reunite with dogs, like last month when a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was reunited with her owner after going missing for six days.

And so from us to you, here’s a story about a dog reuniting with its owner after four years of being lost. We hope it will paw at your heart strings.

“Has anyone lost a husky?” Photo via Facebook.

It began on Monday morning, when someone posted a photo of a husky sitting in Fanling with the caption: “Has anyone lost a husky? Found one near Cheung Shan Monastery on Wo Keng Shan Road. Next to the dog is a bag of dog food and the dog is covered in dirt”.

Netizens jumped in to volunteer to take the dog to a safe place, but some were concerned that the doggie was not lost but more likely abandoned by its owners given that it was found next to a bag of dog food.

Nevertheless, the pet detectives of Facebook set out to find the pooch, and hours later found it in Sha Tau Kok.

“I’ve got the dog!” Said one netizen who volunteered to join the search party. Photo via Facebook.

After the dog was retrieved, it was then taken to a clinic where vets found a chip with a contact number, on.cc reported.

It is not clear how or why the dog went missing in the first place, but based on this screengrab of a Whatsapp conversation with the owner, it looks like someone probably got the best early Christmas present.

The message said said: “I have been separated from this dog for four years, thank you so much everyone!”
