Man pleads not guilty to groping 2 female fans at Supper Moment concert

A man pleaded not guilty today to groping two female fans, at least one of them underage, at a concert by the Cantopop-rock band Supper Moment.

Yeung Chun-yat, 24, appeared at Eastern Magistrates’ Court today charged with three counts of indecent assault against two women, identified only as X and Y.

On the first day of the hearing, Y, 15, told the court room that the incident in question happened on November 4, 2017, when she and four of her friends — including X — went to a shopping mall in Kwun Tong where the Supper Moment was having a fan meet-up.

The group were going to head to Stanley Plaza on the same day to see the band perform a concert. Just as they were about to leave the meet-up, they were approached by Yeung, who said he was also a fan of the group and was going to the same concert as well, HK01 reports.

Y told the court that Yeung did not tell the group his name, but parted ways with them saying he would see them later.

The group then traveled to Stanley for the concert, where Y said she felt Yeung standing behind her with his hands on her shoulders, on.cc reports.

She told the court that she was surprised at first, but ignored the unwanted attention until suddenly she felt something warm press against her buttocks. She said she didn’t dare yell, and wanted to step forward, but couldn’t because there was no space. After a short period she managed to slip away by switching positions with her friend.

In cross-examination, the defense sought to raise questions as to how Y was certain it was Yeung who groped her, and Y testified that there were about 200 people who rushed towards the stage when Supper Moment appeared.
