Police arrested a man Monday after he approached a stranger on the street in Tai Wai, asking her to be his “part-time girlfriend” and engage in sadomasochistic acts with him.
The 19-year-old woman was followed by the man Sunday at around 9:30 pm on her way back home.
Claiming to offer a job opportunity, the man, who is a hairdresser, walked up to the woman and talked her into accepting his offer. They exchanged phone numbers.
The man then said he could also give her HK$2,500 (US$322) if she agreed to be his “part-time girlfriend,” whose duties would include performing erotic sex acts with him like bondage and whipping.

Feeling frightened, the girl fled home and told her family about the encounter. They decided to take the case to the police.
The woman gave officers his phone number, which police used to track down the man. They arrested him on Chik Fu Street in Tai Wai on Monday night.
“[The suspect] and the victim did not know each other. We believe that he randomly picked a target on the street,” Inspector Lam Nga-sze of the Sha Tin district Criminal Investigation Team said in a press conference Wednesday.
During the investigation, the police also discovered at least four indecent videos on the suspect’s phone, which were believed to be captured by a hidden camera in a female toilet.
The man was held in custody for further investigation.
According to the law, offenders charged with acts outraging public decency face up to seven years’ imprisonment.
