A fortune teller who charged up to HK$1,600 (US$200) an hour for her astrology consulting services has been arrested for falsely claiming that her qualifications are recognized by the government.
The 32-year-old woman is a self-proclaimed “human design analyst,” according to screenshots of her LinkedIn profile posted by HK01. In her bio, she wrote that her academic qualifications are government recognized, and that she offers relationship advice, counseling for parents and career guidance.
Posing as a client, an undercover customs officer arranged an appointment with the woman at her office in a Kwun Tong industrial building Tuesday and arrested her.

She is suspected of applying a false trade description to a service, an offence punishable by up to five years in jail and a HK$500,000 (US$64,188) fine.
Human design is a pseudoscience that combines elements of astrology and numerology, a belief in the relationship between numbers and coinciding events.
The International Human Design School, which offers courses in the pseudoscience for aspiring practitioners as well as paid 50-page personal reports based on one’s birth time, defines human design as “a synthesis of ancient wisdom and modern science.”
The woman said on her LinkedIn profile that she grew interested in human design after hearing about it from a friend. She then enrolled in workshops and courses, and became an “analyst” in 2019.
