Poor fella.

A ginger tabby cat, believed to have been hit by a vehicle, was found alive but badly injured near a Sheung Wan bus terminus this morning.

According to Apple Daily, the cat was found in a plant trough next to the bus terminal at the Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan just after 11am.

A 30-year-old man surnamed Hon called police after spotting the wailing ginger tabby cat, and police arrived at the scene shortly afterwards with staff from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

A video posted by Apple Daily shows officers put the cat in a cardboard box and give it some water.

SPCA staff found injuries to the cat’s front legs, lower jaw and right ear. They believe the cat was most likely hit by a vehicle. They could not find any signs of abuse.

In another more cheerful cat-related story, a cat that was found in the middle of the road with a fishing hook stuck inside him is on the road to recovery.

According to the organization Paws Guardian, the cat — which they have named Fisher — was hit by a car outside the Cheung Sha Wan Wholesale fish market on Tuesday.

The organization then took Fisher to a veterinary clinic where an X-ray found a fishing hook about 2.5 centimeters-long stuck in his abdomen, part of his pelvis was fractured, and there was no reaction in his hind legs.

Fisher’s chances of survival did not look, however, thankfully, vets managed to operate and successfully remove the fishing hook from his abdomen.
