Police last night arrested a further 11 men in connection with an attack in Wan Chai that left one man critically injured in what is believed to be a revenge attack between two Triad gangs.

The arrest come after officers arrested two men in the early hours of Tuesday morning shortly after the violence occurred.

This brings to total number of men detained in connection with the incident to 13, and officers told reporters they have not ruled out further arrests.

According to Ming Paothe suspects, all local men, are between 17 and 47-years-old, have suspected Triad backgrounds, and were arrested over two days in different parts of Hong Kong.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a gang of at least 10 men armed with hammers and knives attacked three vehicles at the junction between Gloucester Road and Marsh Road.

Local media reported that a 36-year-old man surnamed Che, who was badly injured in the fracas, managed to hail a cab from Lockhart Road, where a taxi driver took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

When police arrived at the scene, they arrested a 32-year-old man surnamed Wong and a 34-year-old man surnamed Ng on suspicion of fighting in a public place and possessing offensive weapons.

According to Ming Pao, Che — who also has a suspected Triad background — sustained injuries to his hands, legs and buttocks. Apple Daily reported this morning that he is now in a stable condition.
