People, for all their faults, can come together and do amazing things, especially when a child’s in trouble.

And a group of pedestrians showed the mighty strength of strangers working together this morning when they lifted a minibus to save a 4-year-old girl whose hand was trapped underneath its wheel.

The rescue was caught on dash cam by a taxi driver surnamed Chan, who told Apple Daily that he spotted the group effort while driving along Ma Tau Chung Road in To Kwa Wan heading towards Kowloon City about 9am this morning.

When he reached the Holy Trinity Cathedral, he saw several people run out of the building towards a minibus, which had the girl trapped underneath the back left wheel of the vehicle.

According to the HK01, the girl surnamed Wong was going to school via minibus. She got off, and immediately tried to get back on when she realised that she left her schoolbag inside the vehicle.

It was at this point that the bus started moving, and Wong fell to the ground and her left hand ended up underneath the back left wheel.

An ambulance arrived at the scene immediately afterwards to take the girl to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

Police are looking into the incident, but found that the 44-year-old minibus driver surnamed Lam was not under the influence of alcohol at the time.
