The comedian behind “Uncle Roger,” who rose to fame in a viral YouTube reaction video, is going on a world tour—and Hong Kong’s on the list.

Nigel Ng publicized plans for the tour on his social media accounts Monday. “Hello Facebook niece and nephew,” Ng said, adopting Uncle Roger’s go-to address for his fans. “Big announcement, Uncle Roger and Nephew Nigel going on world stand-up tour. Fuiyoh!”

The “Haiyaa World Tour” will begin in the UK, where Ng is based, in February 2022 before making stops in the US, Canada, Australia and cities in Asia.

Ng will be in Hong Kong on June 22 next year. The venue and ticketing details are yet to be announced.

“This is such a dream come true. It was exactly what I wanted to achieve from the very first social media video I made,” Ng wrote on Instagram. “Who knew wearing an oversized orange polo, complaining about egg fried rice would one day lead to this[?]”

The 30-year-old Malaysian comedian found fame last year when he uploaded a YouTube video of him reacting to an egg fried rice recipe produced by BBC Food. In the video, the presenter Hersha Patel drains the rice with a strainer and uses just-made, rather than days old leftovers rice—steps that Ng ridiculed.

Ng and Patel later met up and filmed a video together, with Patel taking the jokes in stride.

Ng has continued producing videos as Uncle Roger. In January, he attracted criticism for apologizing to his China fans and deleting a video in which he collaborated with YouTuber Mike Chen, who has spoken up against Beijing’s treatment of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang.

“I wasn’t aware of his political thoughts and his past incorrect remarks about China,” Ng wrote in his apology. Many have since accused Ng of bowing to Chinese censorship.

In Asia, Ng will also be doing shows in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan.
