A naked artist who paints with his penis, a bondage workshop, and cosplay nights are just some of the highlights Hongkongers can expect when the Central Harbourfront hosts the city’s first ever adult-themed festival next year.

Early-bird tickets for the April 5-8 event, dubbed 18+ Central, are now on sale for HK$299 per day, a price that will max out at HK$760 per day closer to the event.

Highlights from the four-day event will include Las Vegas-style stage shows, a Virtual Reality zone, a neon light dance, and photo booths and studios for festival-goers to take the perfect Instagram photos, presuming of course that you have not allowed your employer to follow you on Instagram.

There will be appearances from famous porn stars, performance artist Pricasso — who, you guessed it, paints pictures with his penis — and the hottest dancers from Bad Boys Australia (think Down Under’s version of the US’ Chippendales).

For those looking to spice things up in the bedroom, there will be talks from sex experts, and even a workshop on the Japanese rope bondage technique known as Shibari.

Guests will also be able to shop for sex toys, lingerie, games, gadgets and food at the festival’s marketplace. No word yet on whether Thailand’s famous “penis waffle” vendor will be making an appearance.

The company organizing the event, Vertical Expo Services, have described the festival as “a place to ditch the guilt and be part of something extraordinary”, saying that sex and pleasure “should not be a taboo subject”.

The event website says: “We want to create a bold and classy party for everyone, male or female. We want to create the ultimate eye-opening experience [where] there’s something for everyone.”

“Bold and classy,” oddly enough, is exactly how our taste in pornography runs.

Vertical Expo Services is the same company that organizes the city’s Asia Adult Expo, a trade show for sex toys and gadgets that has been held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai every year since 2013.
