Today on the internet, netizens are debating the nuances of moral relativism after some women got naked inside an airport bathroom and another woman took photos of them to share her unhappiness over the incident.
A Thai woman was shocked and upset by the presence of naked Chinese women inside a Don Mueang Airport bathroom that paused to take a photo and share online, an act that incensed people either toward her or the naked women.
Facebook page CSI LA published a photo of one of many naked Chinese on Friday who felt comfortable changing in the airport’s ladies room without going into a stall, making the Thai women who used the bathroom feel awkward and prompting the day’s outburst of sinophobia.
“Chinese tourists are terrible!” said the anonymous poster. “I saw a group of Chinese tourists stripping in the ladies’ room. Some were topless, some bottomless. So disgraceful!”
In Thai culture, it is considered a big no-no to strip beyond underwear in front of strangers, even in a gym locker room.
While many agree the Chinese would benefit from studying the dos and don’ts before entering another country, the others condemned the Thai woman who snapped a picture of the nude woman who after all wasn’t guilty of anything more than changing her clothes.
