Tourists in public sex video blacklisted, police warn Thais not to share such naughty videos

Pattaya police said yesterday they have identified the foreign couple who unashamedly had sex on Jomtien’s Dongtan beach in the middle of the day earlier this month, and they’ve been blacklisted from the country.

Pol. Col. Apichai Kroppetch, commander of Pattaya Police, led a press conference yesterday to announce that they’d solved the case of the duo who had their sexual act filmed by an offended Thai person on March 11 — the video made headlines internationally.

Col. Apichai said the couple were Russian tourists who stayed at a hotel on Tap Phraya Soi 12, but when officers got to the hotel, the pair had already checked out the same afternoon they were caught having public sex.

The woman reportedly left the country via Utapao Airport that day, while the man flew out via the Suvarnabhumi Airport two days later, Sanook reported.

Although it was too late to arrest the pair, police promised that they have been blacklisted and will be arrested if they return.

Pol. Apichai added that the Thai person who filmed the couple also broke the law. Police have summoned the person to accept charges.

When encountering foreigners having sex in public, police urge Thais to alert the authorities instead of filming them, because publishing a naughty video is illegal.

Anyone who publishes a porngraphic video must face a jail term of five years and/or a fine up to THB100,000 under the computer crime laws.
