After a standoff lasting over 25 hours, Bangkok police finally apprehended a disgruntled cop who had barricaded himself inside his home and opened fire on those who came near.
Police fired volleys of rubber bullets and tear gas as they gained entry to the home to subdue special branch police officer Lt. Col. Kittikarn Sangboon.
There were unconfirmed reports that several officers sustained injuries during the shootout. One officer shot in the head was said to have been saved by his helmet.
Kittikarn, who works at the Intelligence Development Center for the Special Branch Bureau, was quickly taken to a police vehicle and transported to Bhumibol Hospital for treatment.
