A mayor in Pathum Thani had a lucky escape after he was almost crushed by a backhoe while posing for a group photo with local officials during a site visit near Chiang Rak canal.
In the incident that turned up as a viral video, Prasert Kaithong, mayor of Khlong Luang municipality, falls over as the backhoe unexpectedly turns back and crushed one of his legs. The crowd screams and the other officials around him immediately help him up.
The mayor then gets up and walks to his car and he was taken to the hospital.
Prasert reportedly suffered from a minor ankle injury, according to Thai News Agency. The internet felt no shame about leaving “LOL” comments since the mayor was okay after all.
