An employee working in the laundry at Amornpan Resort in Rayong had his lower arm ripped off when it became stuck in an active washing machine during his shift yesterday.

At about 4pm, the 28-year-old man, identified only as “Ki,” lost his lower right arm after reaching in to bring washed garments out of the machine.

His fellow employees told police that Ki probably believed that the machine had finished washing and spin-drying the clothes, so he opened the machine and reached his arm in to retrieve the customers’ clothes.

After his arm became caught in the machine, fellow employees immediately switched it off and called for help, Khaosod reported.

Ki was sent to Klang hospital, where doctors attempted to reattach the lower part of his arm, but there has been no confirmation thus far if they have been successful.

Meanwhile, police has inspected the scene and will question the management of the resort as well to discuss how they plan to aid the injured man.
