Standing out among the crowd of Disney princesses at this Children’s Day party was Mimi, a 3-year-old preschooler who dressed as a Yakult lady for the fancy dress festivities at her school outside of Bangkok.

While other little girls at Nonthaburi’s Pattanawit School showed up as Elsa, Cinderella, and Snow White for the party, themed “Dream Occupation,” Mimi’s photos circulated across Thai media as she showed up as a Yakult lady, an old occupation that still exists today.

The Yakult ladies sell and deliver probiotic drinks to people at their homes, typically on a bicycle. Nowadays in Bangkok, we occasionally see them standing around a market looking for customers.

Mimi’s mother Phraerisa Phanjarik shared the photos of her adorable daughter on Facebook, which quickly went viral. She joked that the point of the costume came from the idea that she wanted to put Mimi in a Children Day’s costume contest at Tesco Lotus and won a THB3,000 prize.

She wrote on Facebook that she’s happy that everyone adored her daughter, “Thanks everybody for adoring her. I really want you to know her more because Mimi is such a funny kid.”
