Thailand announced an additional 122 COVID-19 cases today, bringing the total to 721 since the outbreak began.

Among those to take ill were people linked to an infection cluster that’s sickened dozens at a muay thai stadium, returnees from abroad and those who have come into contact with other patients, according to Taweesilp Wissanuyothin of Public Health Ministry. The causes of the majority of new cases – 92 of them – are still unknown and being investigated.

That was the case Sunday, when 108 of 188 new cases announced were said to be of unknown origin. Officials said their ability to track all cases is becoming limited as they increase exponentially.

Nearly 700 patients are currently hospitalized, with seven in critical condition.

The youngest patient was a 6-month-old toddler. The oldest was 79. The average age has been 37. Asked about the toddler’s condition, an officials said he didn’t know as the information wasn’t with him.

Bangkok came to a near halt Sunday with most businesses ordered to shut down. That sent much of its workforce back home to the provinces, prompting fear of further spread outside the capital. The virus has reached all regions of the country.
