A woman’s leg was severed from her body after she got stuck on a moving walkway at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport.

The unidentified traveler was heading to her gate for a flight to Nakhon Si Thammarat province when she tripped and her leg was pulled into the walkway mechanism in the south corridor between gates 4 and 5 of the airport’s Terminal 2.

The entire ordeal was caught on CCTV. In clips circulating online, it appears that her leg was pulled in up to the knee at the walkway’s end.

She was taken to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital where her leg had to be amputated. Use of all airport travelators has been suspended while engineers investigate what happened.

“We deeply regret the distressing incident at Don Mueang Airport and are fully committed to providing care, covering medical expenses and necessary compensation,” the airport said in a statement today.
