AIT crisis might have just reached a resolution

The Nation has just unveiled another chapter in the ongoing Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) charter crisis.

If you need to catch up on the tortuous AIT crisis, check out this post. Got it? Okay, good. So…

Control of AIT is set to return to its original Board of Trustees, the Board recognized by Parliament and (presumably) positioned to issue valid degrees to AIT students.

This change in management was announced at a meeting today in the presence of controversial AIT President Said Irandoust, who has been widely called on by both students and alumni to resign.

Once reconvened, Foreign Ministry deputy permanent secretary Nopadol Gunavibool will chair the Board. Among its first actions will be the conferring of valid degrees onto graduates who have matriculated since the crisis began.
