Insta butt bros booted to U.S. after 2 weeks in Thai jail, but is ass account back?

The two American men arrested in Bangkok after posting photos of their naked asses at Wat Arun were released from Thai jail after two weeks and have been deported to their home in California.

Married couple Joseph Dasilva, 38, and Travis Dasilva, 36, were taken into custody at Don Mueang International Airport on Nov. 28 after pics from their “traveling_butts” Instagram page showed them dropping their pants at the religious site. They were charged with public nudity, fined THB5,000 each, and held while police collected evidence to help them decide whether or not to charge the butt buddies with a computer crime act or lewd behavior at a religious site.

In the end, they released the men though they could have faced up to seven years in prison if they’d been found guilty of both crimes.

On Friday, San Diego Gay and Lesbian News reported the men were released from jail and deported. It is unknown if they have been blacklisted, according to The Star.

Shortly after their release, an account similar to the the Instagram account they disabled, “traveling_butts,” popped up. Though Richard Barrow reported that they had reposted the Wat Arun photos, others noted that the account was likely a fake since it contains an extra “l” and is spelled “travelling_butts.” When we checked, this account did not contain the Wat Arun photos and contained photos of several people with their pants down around the world, not just these two men. It also has just under 3,000 followers, where their old account had over 14,000.

However, Barrow has an earlier screenshot of what seems to be the same account, that does seem to contain the photos that started all the trouble.

If the Dasilva men really did put an account back up and learned nothing from this debacle — in which they created a worldwide bad impression for both Americans and gay men — maybe the old American adage is true: You can’t fix stupid.
