The Thai-Indian Fun Fair returns this year, promising to bring India and its richly diverse culture alive.
Sponsored by the Embassy of India and the Indian Social Club, the event aims to consolidate the cultural bond between the Thai and Indian communities, as well as promoting Indian culture in the modern world.
The fair offers cultural activities and fun for all the family, with games, a fashion show and traditional souvenir stalls. Indian dishes will also feature heavily, along with other international cuisines, while some lucky visitors could find themselves going home with prizes from the raffle draw.
Competitions will be held for painting and rangoli, an Indian artform using colored rice to form beautiful patterns, with prizes for the winners.
The fair will also feature the Mera Punjab, which will showcase the culture of the Punjab region in northern India.
Visitors can take part in activities like wearing Punjabi dresses and jewelries and taking selfies, henna painting on hands, and enjoying the traditional food and performances from the region.
The Thai-Indian Fun Fair takes place on Feb. 13 at Chulalongkorn University.
