A 3-year-old girl was beaten to death by her uncle and aunt at their apartment on On Nut soi 46 for simply defecating in her bed on Monday night.
Sompong Puangsombat, 27; and Pawimon Pintong, 19; admitted their 3-year-old niece to Kluaynamthai 2 Hospital. The toddler, Supatcha Pitsanayabut, suffered from several wounds all over her body and did not survive, prompting the hospital staff to call the police.
Sompong and Pawimon confessed to beating their niece with a broomstick handle. They have been charged with fatal assault, according to Phra Khanong police.
The couple told the police that they took the girl in from her grandmother a week ago so that she could play with their own kid, who was the same age.
But Sompong lost it on Monday night when the toddler did what many toddlers do — defecated in her bed.
The girl’s body was sent to Chulalongkorn Hospital where they will determine the cause of her death while the couple will be prosecuted, Khaosod English reported.
