A Facebook user is offering a THB5,000 reward to anyone with information on a foreign man who was caught on tape hitting a 10-year-old toilet attendant in Phuket — after they allegedly got into an argument over THB10 toilet fee.
Videos of the foreigner beating a bathroom boy were shared online by Facebook user Tohee Seesa, who claimed the hot-headed farang attacked the boy because he didn’t want to pay the THB10 fee.
According to the photos, the attacker was accompanied by four other friends — two women and two men. Although the post was published on Facebook on May 3, the story went viral today.
“The incident happened at Soi Bangla, Phuket. The problem started when the farangs refused to pay a THB10 toilet fee. There were five farangs. One guy did it [hit the boy], and the others encouraged him. If you find this person, I’ll give you THB5,000 reward. Call me,” Tohee wrote.
The story has raised questions among online commenters who say the “10-year-old boy” looks like he could be in his 20s in the videos, which don’t show the boy or the incident very clearly.
Some people suggested that the boy might have done something else to cause the dispute, such as peeping into the female toilets. In the videos, the attacker’s female friends were saying something to him before he started beating the boy. Others expressed their opinion that one must not hit a 10-year-old boy, regardless of what really happened.
