While many are being driven out of work, help wanted signs are going up in one sector: delivery.

The owner of the ubiquitous 7-Eleven convenience stores said it is recruiting 20,000 employees to deliver goods as the hard-hitting COVID-19 outbreak ravages in the country.

CP All announced Sunday that the company will add delivery services to help the public, many of whom are sheltering in place, cope with the COVID-19 crisis as Thailand has reported nearly 600 coronavirus infections

The 20,000 staff members would cover all 7-Eleven branches nationwide, according to CP All.

Applicants must be Thais over 18 who possess a motorcycle driver’s license and have completed education above ninth grade. Candidates with personal motor vehicles will be priority hires. They can apply online.

Bangkok’s semi-shutdown became effective Sunday with the closure of department stores, bars and more – except for those providing essential consumer goods – as well as all restaurant dining-in service. Customers can only order take away.
