Breaking: One suspect in bar girl murder case released on bail

Khon Kaen Provincial Court will release one defendant today in the much-publicized bar girl murder and dismemberment case.

Jidarat Promkhun, 21, is the only defendant not charged with murder over the death of Warisara Klinjui, 22. This is why the court decided she wasn’t a flight risk and will release her on bail this evening, reported The Nation.

Her bail was THB90,000, according to Bangkok Biz News. She has always maintained her innocence and said that she was in Bangkok when the murder occurred in Khon Kaen.

The other suspects have confessed and are facing the death penalty.

Jidarat has only been charged with possession of a stolen item, since she had and sold Warisara’s cell phone after the young woman’s death.

The other suspects: Preeyanuch Nonwangchai, 24, Kawita Rachada, 26, Apiwan Satayabundit, 28, and Wasin Namprom, 22, all remain in custody and face charges of premeditated murder,  hiding a body to conceal a murder, theft, kidnapping, carrying weapons, and possessing stolen merchandise.

Preeyanuch, Kawita, and Apiwan caught the public’s attention for what was thought to be preferential treatment by the police because they are young and attractive.

Their case is currently being heard in Thai court.
