An advisor to Royal Thai Police has forbidden all police officers from taking any more photos or videos of the three suspects in the grisly Khon Kaen bar girl murder and sharing the materials on social media.
Following public criticism over the VIP treatment of the trio, Advisor Pol. Gen. Kawee Supanun has warned the officers to remain “unbiased” in their work and make sure their actions are not damaging to the police force, according to a Thai report from yesterday’s meeting at the Royal Thai Police headquarters.
The public became enraged after photos of the three suspects, who confessed to killing and dismembering 22-year-old Warisara Klinjui, smiling and appearing relaxed were shared online.

Police spokesman Detnarong Suthicharnpanya commented that the police actions may have been a strategy to “relax” the suspects so that they would reveal more information.
