In the wee hours of Thursday night, a Brazilian DJ broke his leg and ankle after falling from the third floor of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport while reportedly wearing nothing but swimming trunks.

Around 3am on Thursday, the Suvarnabhumi Airport Provincial Police Station recieved a report regarding a critically injured tourist that had fallen near Gate three of the second floor.

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Ricardo Vilela E Silva, was rushed to Samitivej airport hospital, where he is currently recovering, reported Khaosod.

The initial investigation revealed that Silva had given a Phuket address when he arrived in Thailand on September 13 and was scheduled to leave the country on December  7.

He, reportedly, often visits Phuket province to DJ at nightclubs.

“We do not know what the motive was for this incident today. My staff are checking CCTV to investigate what happened” said Suvarnabhumi deputy general manager Kittipong Kittikachorn, as quoted by The Sun.

And, for those wondering, authorities says they have not figured out why he was only sporting the bare minimum at the time of the accident. They are waiting for Silva to recover before interrogating him.

The Brazilian embassy has been informed.

It’s not the first time someone has plunged from a balcony at the airport. In fact, this is the second fall that’s occured at the international airport just this month.

Last Thursday, a German man jumped to his death from the fourth floor of the passenger terminal after refusing to board a flight four days earlier.

There have, reportedly, been eight people that have died from jumping off of the airport’s balcony since Suvarnabhumi first opened in 2006
