A Bangkok woman was convinced she would die after she became a prisoner of her own toilet for days on end.

A missing persons report led Phra Khanong police to rescue the unidentified woman last night from the bathroom she was unable to escape for three days because the doorknob was broken.

“I’ve been drinking tap water to stay alive, and if it runs out, I will probably die,” she wrote in cream on the wall. “I’ve been screaming for help, but no one has arrived.”

The woman’s sister contacted the police Thursday night after not hearing from her since Monday. She led them to her sister’s house, where the gate was locked. There, the police used pliers to cut the lock and entered to search the premises.

Upon reaching the third floor, the officers heard her screaming for help. Along with the woman, the police found her scrawled goodbye message.

Although she appeared to be in a healthy condition, the officers advised her family to take her to the hospital for further examination.
