10GB of free mobile data available starting next week

The national broadcasting regulator announced today that it will give away mobile broadband access to encourage people to stay home.

Starting April 10, those with Thai ID cards can register for a free 10GB of data as a measure to contain the COVID-19 outbreak. Commissioner Takorn Tantasithh said it was part of the government’s now-popular “Stay at home, stop the disease, save the nation” campaign.

Those with monthly internet packages over 10GB and those who use “unlimited” packages will not be eligible.

To register between April 10 and April 20, dial *170* followed by your 13-digit Thai ID number and #. An SMS will confirm the free 10GB.
