Be prepared, commuters, as 10 MRT stations will close tomorrow for the opening of a new extension.

Two metro stations will be unavailable starting at 6am and eight stations from 4pm for a ceremony inaugurating the Blue Line presided over by the king and queen at MRT Saman Chai, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority announced this morning.

No time was given for when service would resume.

The two stations closing at dawn are MRT Sanam Chai and Sam Yot. Those closing in the afternoon are MRT Itsaraphap, Tha Phra, Bang Phai, Bang Wa, Phetkasem 48, Phasi Charoen, Bang Khae and Lak Song.

It also dovetails with the timing of the next mass pro-democracy rally kicking off at 2pm at the Democracy Monument, a short jaunt from MRT Sanam Chai and Sam Yot.
