Open and closed and open and closed again, the 100-Bit Barcade on Charoen Krung Road has weathered the COVID-19 pandemic storm but is now happy to once again open to patrons who like a little Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat with their buzz.

Revamped and reopened, the Talat Noi must-play pub — located below the famed Foojohn jazz club — officially reopens tonight.

“COVID has been hard enough to now [you can] finally embrace your inner fun in Bangkok’s only barcade,” owner Romain Dupuy says, adding that the big change in the current setup is that the arcade machines are the center of the business.

From a few arcade machines on the wall, patrons can now sit and drink while games are projected on the wall as well as engage in a friendly punch-em-up at adjoining machines.

Romain said that the space will evolve into a daytime gaming business and the Retro game machines will become the core of 100-Bit; he also says both food and DJs will be returning soon.

The drinks are fittingly named after video games. You’ve got the Tonic Sonic, Nintendo Tango, and X-Buster, but the Mario Sour is a real treat, a mix of strawberry, lime, and whiskey. All cocktails and Suntree beer are THB200, while Leo beers run THB100.

100-Bit Barcade opens from4pm until “super late” Thursday through Saturday.
