What’s arguably the mightiest and best Japanese film of all time is among 16 movies showing on the big screen at an independent cinema turning 16 this month.

House Samyan is celebrating its birthday with 16 Japanese films including 1953 drama masterpiece Tokyo Story; Hirokazu Kore-eda’s heart-melting Like Father, Like Son; and tear-jerking anime Your Name.

The full program and schedule is available online.

The program runs July 9 through July 16 at House Samyan. Owned and operated by film production company Sahamongkol Film, the independent cinema popular among non-mainstream filmgoers, formerly known as House RCA, first opened in July 2004 in Bangkok’s RCA area before last year it moved to the current location in Samyan area.

House Samyan is located atop Samyan Mitrtown shopping mall. It’s reachable from MRT Samyan.
