Use the pandemic to clear that last hoard of unread books? Rebuild that tower of literary shame in September, when a massive new dump of books hits town.

Big Bad Wolf is making a virtual return to the capital city for its fifth year – online only (blame the pandemic!), it announced this afternoon.

The warehouse book sale is known for offering millions of English-language books at deep discounts ranging from 50% to 90% off sticker price. For its first four years, the event ran around the clock at Muang Thong Thani with basket-clutching bibliophiles roaming day and night.

The sale will take place Sept. 3-6. More details will be announced at a later date.

Due to the pandemic, Thailand’s national book fair earlier this year was also held online for the first time. Its first day saw the website ThaiBookFair.com crash due to the number of people shopping online from home.

The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is dubbed the world’s largest book sale. It was founded by book-loving couple Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng and first took place in 2009 in Malaysia’s Selangor before coming to Thailand in 2016.
