Since closing his Michelin-starred resto last year, chef Gaggan Anand’s been keeping busy. After opening another dining spot named after himself on Soi Sukhumvit 31, the 42-year-old chef last week opened a new joint in the Ekkamai area – something he describes as his “curry house dream.”
Taking over a two-story home that once housed Meatilicious, Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh opened Friday to serve dishes infused with two strong cuisine traditions – Indian and Mexican.
Because everything must have “a story” today, the restaurant has crafted its own fictitious narrative based on an interracial couple – Mexican Ms. Maria and Indian dude Mr. Singh – who fell in love and started a new life together in Bangkok.
“Is it mild in ur life ??? Well which is more spicier cuisine Mexican or Indian … ? Come experience the romance of both,” Gaggan wrote on his most recent Instagram post.
Mrs. Maria & Mr. Singh is located on Soi Ekkamai 6 and is open 6pm-11pm daily.
