Thailand’s the latest destination for an iconic Japanese brand to unleash its coffee gearhead geekiness.
Best known for high-quality glassware and coffee equipment, Hario last month landed in Bangkok with a 24-hour cafe in the Lat Phrao area. Dubbed Hario Cafe Bangkok, the Thai flagship shop is housed inside a spacious, white-walled building on Chokchai 4 Road where caffeinated drinks, specialty coffees and the stuff to make it also for sale.
The menu features coffees and teas ranging from THB80-120. A signature cup of Coffee Royale (THB120) adds hot French Press coffee on top of a milk ice cube, cinnamon stick and chocolate flakes.
The beans are imported from locales around the world such as Kenya, Costa Rica and Indonesia’s Sumatra Island. Thailand is Hario’s second overseas outpost after Jakarta.
Teetotalers can find plenty of options including Brown Sugar Milk Tea Float and Matcha Dirty to Yuzu Cold Brew, all for THB85.
The cafe offers a 10% discount on all drinks through April 30.
Hario Cafe Bangkok is open 24 hours every day on Chokchai 4 Soi 39.
Hario (“King of Glasses” in Japanese) was founded in 1921 as a manufacturer of laboratory glassware before it ventured into coffee syphons, its first coffee-brewing devices and heatproof glassware.
