A vibrating Thonglor dancefloor that went dark during the pandemic is trying to float back to the nightlife scene again with its first jazz festival.

Beam Jazz Fest will come to Beam next month, and patrons can expect a combination of traditional jazz tracks alongside electronic crossover tunes.

The evening will kick off with a sunset session on the outdoor terrace before moving inside for the rest of the night.

The lineup includes international names like Avantdale Bowling Club, a solo project from New Zealand rapper Tom Scott, and Kyoto Jazz Massive feat. Vanessa Freeman, a jazz-electronic crossover project from brothers Shuya and Yoshihiro Okino. Shuya will also perform another solo DJ set that night.

Other names that should ring a bell for jazz and electronic fans are the American duo No Regular Play, keyboardist and sound designer Jason Lindner, as well as the Michael Feinberg Quartet, Timothy Angulo Group, and Greg Paulus Band.

For local names, afro-beat and jazz specialist African Ride will make an appearance, as well as Dikon, DJ Funky Pump, iNIT, Khun Guy, Maarten and many more.

Beam Jazz Fest will run from 4pm until late on April 29. Advance tickets are available online for THB890 until April 7 before increasing to THB1,090.
