Moving mall sushi is becoming a thing again thanks to a popular Japanese chain.
Sushi voyeurs and fans of plucking favorites from perpetual motion plates should synchronize their watches for 10am on Wednesday when Sushiro, a Japanese franchise known for conveyer-belt plates as cheap as JPY100, opens its first outpost in Thailand at Bangkok’s CentralWorld shopping mall.
Starting plate prices will be jacked up a bit higher than that at THB40 (US$1.25). Apart from more than 100 types of sushi, the restaurant will also offer other Japanese favorites such as shrimp tempura, ramen, edamame and omelette rolls.
Sushiro first opened in Osaka in 1984 before expanding abroad to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. The new restaurant will be on CentralWorld’s 7th floor.
