Two months after she was named royal consort, Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi was stripped of all ranks and titles by order of His Majesty the King.

In a statement published in the Government Gazette, the palace accused the 34-year-old former army nurse of using various methods to prevent Queen Suthida Vajiralongkorn na Ayudhya from taking her position.

“Sineenat did everything to make herself equal to Queen Suthida, she did not understand the royal palace’s customs and traditions, showed disobedience to the King and Queen and took advantage of her position by giving commands and claiming the king had told her to do so on his behalf,” reads the statement from the palace.

More than just interfere, the statement said she sought to become queen herself.

Sineenat was the first royal consort named by a Thai king in nearly a century.

Born in the northern province of Nan, she graduated from the Royal Thai Army Nursing College, trained as a pilot in Thailand and abroad, and served in the king’s royal bodyguard unit, reaching the rank of major-general in May.

King Maha Vajiralongkorn bestowed the rank of “Chao Khun Phra” or noble consort on the Sineenat on his 67th birthday in July.
