Treat Yourself
Sharky’s (Bagan, Ngapli, Yangon)
Where? Dhamazedi road
When? 9 AM – 9 PM from April 13 – April 16, but closed on April 17
Why? Because a creative combination of European and Asian with a distinct bistro twist in a shady outdoors venue is the perfect way to recharge your batteries.
Where? 60 Lower Pansodan Road | Kyauktada Township., Yangon
When? 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
Where? In a beautifully restored section of one of Yangon’s architecturally significant buildings, this restaurant’s modern take on Burmese cuisine is worth it any time of the year. Be sure to try their pancakes with honeycomb butter. Jaw. Dropping.

Where? 77-79 Pansodan Street | Lower Middle Block, Yangon
When? 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Why? Most tea shops remain open but few have the A/C capabilities of Rangoon Tea House. Oh and their food always exceeds expectations, especially their pork shoulder marinated in laphet.
Where? Sayar San St.
When? 11 AM – 12 AM
Why? Spicy broth? You got it. Creamy broth? Why not? Got a hangover? This is the place to go. Heartbroken? They say hotpot is the one-off cure.

Why? We’ve featured plenty of European and Asian cuisine but haven’t highlighted the light and most obvious brunch meal – dimsum!

Why? They have a special Thingyan Menu until April 21st that features seafood, grilled veal and vegetables and an assortment of gluten free sweets. The food is prepared by students moonlighting as assistant chefs to gain valuable experience.
We realize our “Treat Yourself” section is a little bigger but why not do exactly that to welcome the Myanmar New Year. Happy Thingyan folks!
