The app you never knew you needed.

Filipinos are currently loving this new app that helps users find the nearest toilet with a bidet.

Called San Bidet, it was developed by Lawrence Velasco and is now viral after he shared it on social media on Saturday.

It’s available on both the App Store and Google Play, because everyone needs to poop, right?

“San Bidet, an app which lists all the toilets with bidets in the Philippines (so it’s comfortable to poop),” Velasco’s Facebook post says matter-of-factly.

Velasco told Coconuts Manila that his eureka moment came when he was in a situation most of us know all too well.

“I was in a situation where I was at a public place and I had the urge to poop. I knew that there was a popular Instagram page (@ShittableBa [Is it shittable]), @MeronBangBidet [Is there a bidet]) and quickly scanned their profile on the best areas to poop near me.

“But I had a hard time since they (the Instagram accounts) have so many posts and I just wanted the nearest toilet with a bidet from where I am. So at that point I got the idea to make an app version of that concept.”

He said that he worked on the app alone and developed it at home after work. It took him roughly two to three weeks and had the iOS version published on Jan. 9, the Android version was available on Jan. 12.

“The app features a map which has pins that designate the locations of toilets with bidets in the Philippines. I initially loaded the map with locations that I personally know of. Then after I released it people message the page about bidets that they know of so I added these too.”

He shared that he plans to make the sharing process easier for users.

“Right now, I’m trying to make the ‘Share Bidets’ process better and more efficient as there are so many users who send the pages a message and it takes a long time to do. I do read them all though.”

For now, people can message the San Bidet Facebook and Twitter pages for tips.

He added that people have been praising the app, both on social media and on the app stores.

“There have [been] so many great feedbacks regarding the app. [I’m] happy reading them all on Fb, Twitter, and [on] the app listings on the [A]pp [S]tore and [G]oogle [P]lay store.”

Velasco can’t believe all the hype his simple app has been getting.

“To be honest it’s overwhelming! During the first release [on iOS], I told my friends I would be happy if the app had 100 users. Now there are more than 1,500 [Apple and Android] users as of the data collected [on] Saturday night,” he said.

His Facebook post had over 7,900 likes and 6,000 shares as of this article’s posting.

Did we save this app on our phones or did this app save us? Both, definitely both.
