Sh*it just got real.

Instagram is known for its impossibly perfect photos of food and travel landscapes but sometimes, it’s also a place to do some much-needed public service. Just like this now-viral page that took it upon itself to answer everyone’s burning question: “Does this restroom have a bidet?”

May Bidet Ba? (@meronbangbidet), which translates as “Does it have a bidet?” is an Instagram account that tells followers whether or not certain public restrooms around the country has a bidet — that spray people use to wash their butts after dropping a log.

The page went viral after 27-year-old I.T. professional Tophee Marquez shared a screenshot of it on Facebook yesterday.

In a Facebook message to Coconuts Manila, Marquez said that he randomly found the page last night when he was going through Instagram’s discover feed at around 10:45pm.

“The content is relatable so I immediately took a screenshot of it and post (sic) in my Facebook account. Then few minutes after, my friends and friends of friends were starting to share it,” he said.

It’s so relatable, in fact, that his post now has 14,000 reactions, close to 14,000 shares, and more than 5,000 comments.

His screenshot from last night shows that the page only had 92 followers but as of this article’s posting, it now has more than 5,000.

Who knew people were that picky about their toilets?

May Bidet Ba?‘s content is simple and straightforward. It posts a photo of the toilet with a location tag and simply says if it does (Meron) or doesn’t have (Wala) a bidet.

For example, it turns out that the restroom inside the Starbucks along Quezon City’s Katipunan Ave. doesn’t have a bidet.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the South Luzon Expressway doesn’t have one either.

Right now, the Instagram page only has 11 posts but it looks like it — and its Facebook page — will prove to be handy for those who are always stuck in Metro Manila’s traffic or those who love to go on road trips.

A whole lot of netizens are already tagging their friends on Marquez’s post as a way to bookmark the Instagram page.

“Baby let’s follow this hahahaha,” Ida Paulina Caja said in Filipino while tagging her significant other.

Christine Simon also tagged someone and said: “This might help you” with three laughing emojis.

Andrea Bitana, on the other, said this would help them avoid “hassle.”

Obviously pleased, Mervinlee Tan said “OMAYGAD THIS IS HELPFUL” in all caps.

Marc Mayhay even called it an “answered prayer.”

Marquez said that he didn’t expect his post about the Instagram page to be such a hit.

“I have no idea that the post will go viral, to be honest, and it’s cool to find out that there are a lot of people who are on (the) search for comfort rooms (restrooms) with bidet,” he said.

“I guess, Filipinos prefer washing our asses with water than wiping them with toilet paper.”

Yeah, guess so.
