Yep, the date has been set for the return of Gong Cha. (Be afraid, LiHo and Koi, be very afraid.) The popular bubble tea chain will make its comeback in Singapore this December, starting with a flagship store at SingPost Centre in Paya Lebar.
Mediacorp radio station 987FM announced the imminent re-arrival of Gong Cha on its Facebook page on Monday, along with photos of notices at the outlet, which is currently under construction.
Earlier this year, the brand had announced in May that it was leaving our shores, and existing Gong Cha outlets were replaced by new local chain LiHo. But a couple months later, Royal Tea Taiwan, the company behind Gong Cha, revealed that the chain would return under a new master franchisee.
Guess all that’s left to do now is wait (im)patiently for December to arrive.
