Yesterday, the Khon Kaen public prosecutor indicted suspects in the much-publicized murder and dismemberment case of bar girl Warissara Klinjui, 22, on May 25.
The main suspect, Preeyanut Nonwangchai, 24, was charged with premeditated murder, removal of a body to conceal a crime, theft, and kidnapping. Her accomplices, Kavita Ratchada, 26, Apiwan Sattayabandhit, 28, and Wasin Namprom, 22, also face the all of the same charges and could get the death penalty. All charges were filed by the prosecutor against the suspects, reported Thai PBS.
Additionally, Apiwan is facing drug charges while Jidarat Promkhun, 21, who was believed to sell Warisara’s phone after her death, was only charged with theft.
All of the suspects had already been in custody for 84 days, which is the maximum number of days in detention allowed by Thai law before formal charges are heard.
The suspects will begin testifying today.
