Hong Kong’s The Langham is pushing the 5-star lifestyle to their smallest clientele, rolling out a new list of amenities to let children live their best city vacation lives.
The new program means that rooms with young guests can be outfitted with luxe teepees and toys even prior to check in — perfect for taking Instagram photos, but let’s hope these kids don’t have social media accounts.
If they do, then children can pose and swagger on par with Lil Tay and Blue Ivy as they lounge in a private play tent surrounded by all the trappings of wealth a little one could want.
Does your kid love to pop bottles all night riding a sugar high? If they’re about that life, let them arrive at their digs to a bottle of sparkling pink lemonade and a plush hobby horse to drink it on.
Chocolate cake from room service accompanied by mylar banners and balloons? No problem. Those are part of their birthday packages but we’re sure no one will bat an eye if you order them and it’s not really anyone’s birthday.
If your little one wants to see and be seen, you can take them downstairs to enjoy a high tea set in the Palm Court lobby lounge or for a swim at the rooftop pool.
To be extra, The Langham also offers a set of branded amenities for children including a Langham Bell Boy Teddy Bear, bathrobe, slippers, backpack, and toothbrush.
While some of this might seem, well, silly, another aspect of the hotel’s new offerings is pretty cool: tech-free vacations for kids. The hotel is encouraging kids — who may have as much of a tech addiction as adults — a chance to unplug with wifi-free entertainment in the form of games, coloring books, puzzles, and a Hong Kong travel map noting all the places that young travelers might want to visit during their stay.
