If you’re planning a trip to Laos anytime soon, here’s a new accommodation option to stay at the country’s UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Pullman Luang Prabang, billed as the largest hotel in the ancient town, is a 16-hectare resort spread over paddy fields in the countryside with a backdrop of mountainous landscapes.
Situated 10 minutes away from the town center, Pullman features 123 guest rooms, suites, and a two-bedroom villa amongst the infinity pools and streams on the grounds. But you won’t find towering buildings here — the low-rise architecture takes inspiration from traditional Laotian heritage design.

It’s also home to Luang Prabang’s biggest conference center, which can hold up to 300 guests in its floor-to-ceiling glass space. Other facilities include the fitness lounge, the spa (which uses Ytsara products), and the kids’ club (it’s got a paddling pool and waterslide pool, as well as cooking and craft classes).

The hotel says that it aims to stay sustainable with its food offerings, and therefore uses local produce and organic in-house dairy products, plus fruits, vegetables, and herbs from nearby farming communities. At the all-day restaurant L’Atelier, visitors get to choose between buffet and a la carte options spanning international cuisines, while the H2O pool bar is where they can get salads and sandwiches. For sundown drinks, The Junctions serves wine and cocktails.

Pullman also says that it has initiatives in place to support the local children’s hospital, wildlife conservation efforts, and the local handicraft trade. Nice.
