Your journey begins in Delhi, winding through the crowds and historical architecture before arriving at Khajuraho, a place filled with temples that date back to the 10th and 11th centuries. Kaafila Camp, set below Kalinjar Fort, is where you’ll relax and unwind in comfort, in between exploring the ruins and shrines of the fortress city, including the nearby Ajaigarh Hill Fort.

Next stop, Sarai at Toria, which sits on the edge of the Panna National Park. Here, you’ll get the opportunity to drive through the jungle terrain and spot sloth bears, Bengal tigers and other creatures like leopards, foxes, and antelopes.

Following your walk on the wild side, the expedition moves to the medieval town of Orchha, nestled on the banks of the Betwa River between idyllic hills. While your night is spent resting at the Amar Hotel, your day will be filled with discovering the town’s palaces and monuments, including the Orchha Fort Complex, which was formerly a hunting base for Mughal rulers.

Finally, for the last three nights, you’ll chill with a view of the Kuno River (and its crocodiles) at the mobile tented Kaafila Camp, where you can stroll across the Kuno-Palpur wildlife sanctuary, head nearby to the town of Shivpuri to see its majestic ancient ruins, or follow the local Moghiya hunters to watch them hunt for fish in the river.

The first departure date for this 11-day tour — which only takes four to eight guests — is set for Nov 29 this year, and it comes at a high cost (US$7,999), so you’d best start stockpiling those savings if you’re keen on exploring India in exclusivity.
