‘In The Room’ is Eric Khoo’s erotic film tribute to Singapore

Renowned Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo of My Magic, One Leg Kicking and Mee Pok Man fame kicked off principal photography today for his latest film In The Room, according to various media reports.

The sex-centric drama anthologises six different stories set in the same hotel room over several decades, chronicling Singapore’s history from the Japanese Occupation to present day and beyond, involving couples of different nationalities to represent the country’s diverse population. Relatively unknown actors have been cast, including thespians from Japan, Korea, Thailand and the UK. 

The film reportedly costs $1 million to produce, with executive producer Jeffrey Chan describing In The Room as a high-concept erotic drama that will surely appeal to various film festivals around the world. 

In The Room marks Eric Khoo’s ode to Singapore’s 50th anniversary which falls next year.
