Pick up a Chinese dialect or sharpen your Singlish skills with these amusing playing cards by Say What. The decks come in Hokkien, Singlish and Cantonese versions, and they function sort of like a guessing game. When the reader chooses a random combination of two cards to form a sentence and attempts to pronounce the words written on them, you’re supposed to figure out what they say, ’cause they won’t be in English.

We imagine there’d be some pretty hilarious guesses, whether you actually understand the language or you just keep making things up off the top of your head. Of course, the Singlish one would be too easy for locals, but they’d probably make an entertaining game to play with your foreigner friends as you giggle your way through their struggling pronunciations.

We just wish the decks took pointers from Cards Against Humanity to feature more outlandish, comical phrases. But then again, it’s kinda like a learning game — at least you’ll get to pick up random Hokkien or Canto words in a funny setting.
Say What is available on its website and at Naiise, The Farm Store and The Little Dröm Store.
