You can meet the man behind Tiong Bahru’s ‘hipster bakes’

Fans of local artisan pastry joint Tiong Bahru Bakery are often found confessing their love for their café of choice all over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, raving about their buttery croissants, sinful chocolate brioche anKouign-amanns.

Soon they’ll be able to shake hands with the man behind it all – French baker, TV personality and cookbook author Gontran Cherrier who’ll be be back in town from Sept. 2 – 7.

The folks at Tiong Bahru Bakery are hosting project #GontranGoesLocal, where fans can vote for the next new localised flavor – crushed peanuts, laksa, char siew, gula Melaka — and stand a chance to attend a meet-and-greet session on Sept. 6 at Raffles City shopping centre.

Be sure to cast your votes in-store, Facebook or Instagram before Sept. 1 if you’d like to have a lovely chat with Cherrier.
