For the third time this year, a double-decker bus rammed into a taxi stand shelter opposite VivoCity on Saturday evening. In this case, the impact caused the windshield of the SBS Transit bus’ upper deck to shatter, according to STOMP.

Commuters on board were shocked, but thankfully no injuries were reported, even though there were about 10 passengers on the upper deck during the accident.

One of the passengers, a 14-year-old student, said that she heard a loud bang and saw debris falling on the top of the bus after the crash.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that it received a call for ambulance assistance around 7:10pm, and dispatched an ambulance to Telok Blangah Road towards the city.

The other two reported cases this year saw Tower Transit buses collide into the same taxi stand shelter in February and July.
