Last Tuesday, a war relic was discovered at a construction site in Jurong Island. The Singapore Armed Forces’ Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was activated, and the relic was assessed to be a 70mm High Explosive Projectile that dated back to World War II.

It was detonated on-site by the team on Thursday.

This projectile is the latest war relic to be uncovered in Singapore — last March, a 11.3kg projectile was found near East Coast Park; and in February last year, seven war relics were surfaced at a construction site near Changi Airport Terminal 2. All of them were safely disposed of by the EOD team.
